Watering and Re-Entry Instructions
To ensure that our Fertilizer & Weed Control spray regimen is most effective and safe, our clients must adhere to the following instructions.
So we may occasionally be delayed a day or two or three before getting to your lawn, but be assured, we won’t forget about you. We’ll get back to your lawn as soon as we can.
Once your lawn is sprayed, be sure to let the product dry for about 8 to 24 hours. This is important as you want to ensure that the herbicide component of our combination spray makes good contact with any existing weeds. Our spray must first dry on the leaves or stems of the weeds to be most effective. If you’re unsure as to when our crew sprayed your lawn, it is noted on the invoice copy they will have left in your mailbox. It also indicates weather conditions at the time of the application and watering instructions. If you don’t have a mailbox, our crew will leave it between your front doors, or under a mat, or maybe in your flower planter etc.
After that 8 hours or within no later than 24 hours, you should then thoroughly water your lawn following our spraying. Please Note: If you choose to water your lawn sooner than 8 to 24 hours later, you are apt to wash off the herbicide component from making good contact, thereby making it less effective in its impact on your weeds.
You want the fertilizer with all its valuable nutrients to find its way into the ground to be as effective as possible.
Please Note: Under very dry or hot or sustained drought conditions, lawns can potentially burn or show signs of being “scorched” if the product is not amply watered in. If a client chooses to not water-in their spray application and their lawn suffers for it, that is their choice and it may void any service guarantees. Click on TERMS OF SERVICE for more details.
We understand that for some acreage owners with acres of lawn, they’re simply not set up for watering such large turf areas. Unfortunately, the potential risk of the fertilizer scorching your lawn is still there, especially if you seldom water your acreage lawns. The risk will be yours as we always recommend watering as mentioned above.
If the weather forecast is definitely promising heavy rain that night, you can likely forego any watering. But if it’s more likely the weatherman is going to be wrong, we always advise watering-in that fertilizer. In fact, oftentimes the rainfall is not enough to properly water in your fertilizer. When you receive an application you should be watering the same amount as you do during a normal scheduled watering session.
It’s entirely up to you but if you have been practicing good lawn care management and do not have any weed problems, and are therefore not concerned about the herbicide component of our spray (and perhaps are leaving town or don’t have the time for watering), you may elect to water the product in sooner than the 8 to 24 hours later instruction. The fertilizer will still work its magic for you though the herbicide component would have likely been washed off of the weeds and less effective.
Additionally, our spray crews will leave a small lawn sign on your front lawn indicating that the application has taken place and asking the client and public to “Please Keep Off Lawn Until Dry” “Fertilizer & Weed Control Products Have Been Applied”. You will thereby know that we have serviced you, indicated by the placement of this sign as well as the invoice slip we’ll leave in your mailbox or between your front doors.

To ensure the safety of your children and pets, and the effectiveness of these lawn treatments, it is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to heed the following important instructions.
Example: If yours was a morning spray application, our clients can typically water in the evening once they get home from work. And then by the following morning, once the lawn has dried from the watering, it’s totally safe for people and pets to be back on the lawn again provided that the 24 hours has lapsed since the time of application and you’ve irrigated your lawn. |
